This is not a fundraising event. Our goal is to introduce fellow strategic thinkers and climate activists to the work we have ahead. We hope you will join this critical conversation.
Introduction to the Carbon Leadership Forum
The Carbon Leadership Forum is a quickly growing organization addressing a very important yet little-known climate change opportunity: the “embodied carbon” emissions associated with buildings and infrastructure. This is a significant opportunity to make sustainable building materials and construction processes a solution to climate change. Did you know that together, concrete and steel alone are responsible for more emissions than every country after the US and China?!
The CLF’s impact has been strategic and decisive, helping to shift behavior and accountability for thousands of building designers and score decisive climate policy wins from Washington State to the White House.
You are invited to meet key CLF staff and learn more about a growing movement to address this historical blindspot in climate advocacy. The event will be hosted by Don Davies (long-time CLF activist, veteran board member and recent president of Magnusson Klemencic Associates) and Joan Crooks (former 25-year CEO of Washington Conservation Action) at Hubbard’s Corner, their new Green Lake office, an historic brick building constructed in 1912 and newly redesigned to be a living laboratory where novel green materials are tested and showcased to reduce concrete’s carbon footprint.
