CLF’s Embodied Carbon Video Training Series distills the foundational knowledge needed to support effective embodied carbon policy and practice. Initially developed for government staff and managers in Washington State, the series addresses core questions about data, tools, and strategies that inform embodied carbon decision-making across North America.

The five short modules — Embodied Carbon 101, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), Whole Building LCA (WBLCA), and Embodied Carbon Policy Strategies — clarify how these tools are used, by whom, and why they matter. Collectively, they establish a practical foundation for more confident and consistent engagement in procurement, policy development, and project-level discussions.

February 10 | Procurement – In the procurement webinar, we'll examine nearly 50 bills introduced and five enacted. We’ll hear from Hanna Waterstrat, Director of Washington State's Office of State Efficiency and Environmental Performance, and Taylor Linnell, CEO of BuiltCold. Using Washington State's Buy Clean and Buy Fair law as a case study, the speakers will discuss how states are moving from policy to implementation, including timelines, processes, lessons learned, and practical insights.

CLF recently corrected a handful of errors in the 2025 CLF North American Material Baselines Report and accompanying Excel table of baseline values (originally published in June 2025).
