Climate Declaration

An opportunity for businesses to demonstrate vision and leadership.

More than 1,500 U.S. businesses have signed on to the Climate Declaration – but the buildings and real estate sector is underrepresented. To help bridge this gap, the Carbon Leadership Forum collaborated with the U.S. Green Building Council and Ceres to create the Building and Real Estate Climate Declaration.

The Building and Real Estate Climate Declaration provides an opportunity for the entire sector –architects and engineers, building product manufacturers, contractors, developers and real estate investors – to take a stand on climate in an impactful way. The sector Climate Declaration will demonstrate strong business support from building-sector companies for taking action on climate change and energy policy at all levels. And it will spotlight the critical role that companies in the buildings and real estate sector play in advancing energy efficiency and distributed renewable energy, reducing embodied carbon in materials, and developing other innovations that reduce carbon emissions throughout building life cycles.

Join the Carbon Leadership Forum and others in our sector by signing the Building and Real Estate Climate Declaration.

We know that using energy efficiently, investing in renewable energy, advancing innovative technology, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the construction and operation of buildings allows us to play a vital role in securing a safe, healthy future for all. By signing the Climate Declaration we commit to climate action within our own businesses and our sector and we call on US and global leaders to realize the opportunity of a low carbon economy.
